Victorian Love Token

The history of 'LOVE TOKENS' : sterling dimes( yep, our coins were actually sterling silver back then) were sanded and hand engraved with initials, words and pictures then presented as a Love Token gift.

 This 1890 token now adorns an ethically sourced Water Buffalo Horn cuff bracelet.

The token hangs from an antique, gold filled pocket watch chain link.

Robert Stephens presented this love token to his sweetheart, Alexandria, on Valentines Day 1890. Initially she was upset as the initials were incorrect. Robert explained he had replaced her last initial with his hoping she would accept his proposal of marriage!
